An independent pet product review site run by dog and cat owners who got tired of sponsored "best of" lists that recommend whatever pays the most commission. We test products ourselves and say what we actually think.
The pet product market is enormous — and largely unregulated when it comes to reviews. Most "recommended" lists are affiliate-first: rank whatever converts best, wrap it in editorial language, and call it editorial.
We built MyPawPicks to do the opposite. We start with the product, test it on real animals in real homes, cross-reference veterinary guidance where it matters (dental care, joint health, car safety), and only then decide where it ranks. A product that earns a higher commission but performs worse never wins at MyPawPicks.
Yes, we earn a small commission on Amazon purchases made through our links — that's how independent review sites stay independent. But our rankings are never for sale.
Every category starts from a question real pet owners are Googling. We don't create content to fill a keyword gap — we create it because there's genuine confusion in the market that we can resolve.
For health-related categories (dental, joint, anxiety, flea control), we read the peer-reviewed literature, check veterinary consensus, and look at certifications like the VOHC seal or Centre for Pet Safety crash test results — not marketing copy.
Where we've personally tested a product, we say so. Where our recommendation is research-based (e.g. crash-tested harnesses we haven't crashed ourselves), we say that too. We don't blur the line.
Products get discontinued. New research emerges. Better options appear. We review our recommendations at least annually, and update immediately when something significant changes.
Links to Amazon are affiliate links — we earn a small commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. This funds the site. It does not influence our rankings. Our full disclosure is on every article page.
